Developing rice husk based HDS for green tyres

TCSRD decided to expand its collaboration with tyre manufacturers and develop silica from a green source. This innovative spirit led to the creation of two products - TYSIL and TREADSIL.

Tyre manufacturers are the biggest users of HDS for radial tyre applications. More and more of these manufacturers are now exploring various raw materials derived from sustainable sources to drive their internal sustainability initiatives and targets.

Since we had already been working with tyre customers for HDS, we decided to expand the ambit and took the initiative to develop silica from a green source.

Our Innovation Centre and our business development and plant teams collaborated with leading tyre customers to introduce two products: TYSIL™ 175GR-RHA and TREADSIL™ 175GR-RHA. Both these products are specially designed precipitated amorphous silica that are successful in meeting customers’ requirements. They are crafted to fulfil the stringent quality norms of end users in the tyres and rubber industry.

  • High-quality output

It imparts low rolling resistance, better grip and noise reduction to tyres.

  • Highest level of rubber reinforcement

Customised BET and CTAB properties optimise wet and dry traction (safety), along with low rolling resistance (better fuel efficiency) in tyre tread compounds. High BET material content ensures good rubber reinforcement to produce tyres.
