‘TRANSCEND’ing the digital and data journey
With rapid technological advancements and evolving industry demands, there was a growing need for Tata Chemicals to equip its workforce with future-ready skills. The organisation recognised a capability gap in digital fluency, data literacy, and agile leadership across its functions—hindering the pace of automation and digital transformation.
-
Goal
To address this gap, the objective was to create a cadre of digital and data champions who could lead transformation projects within their respective functions. The aim was to upskill employees in critical areas such as digital thinking, data-driven decision-making, and leadership, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the company’s digital evolution.
-
Progress
The 8-week ‘Transcend’ programme successfully upskilled 50 cross-functional employees across Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and CSR. Participants were exposed to emerging technologies and leadership tools through a mix of virtual and in-person sessions. Each champion undertook a live digital project linked to their annual goals, with outcomes including automation of export processes, robotics in goods receipt, and use of digital twins. The programme received high satisfaction scores and strong NPS ratings, reflecting its impact in building a future-ready workforce.
