Said Mr Prasad Menon, MD, Tata Chemicals, "This is indeed a proud moment for us to be awarded the Sword of Honour, and is a result of the dedication and commitment by the TCL employees towards safety. By making health and safety a priority, our organisation demonstrates its commitment to the welfare of its workers, clients and stakeholders. Safety can be managed in ways that improve organisational performance and we will continue to work towards making our place of work conducive to preserving the health, safety and general well-being of the employees."
Out of the many companies that apply annually, only 40 of the world's safest companies are presented with 'Swords of Honour' each year. The 'Sword of Honour' is a world-class business award open exclusively to British Safety Council members and is dependent on having achieved the Five Star award. It covers various aspects like management of health and safety, business risk management, environment, culture and behavior, measurement and control systems, occupational health, best practice and information on accidents and incidents.
The banquet at Goldsmiths Hall in London will be held on November 26 and a member of the Tata Chemicals' board would be invited to attend the function at the Top Table.
