The first 75 runners that completed the half marathon were awarded prizes and certificates. The marathon is organised every year since 1995 in the memory of former plant head late Mr Prabhakar, who worked with Tata Chemicals for over 25 years and was fond of sports and fitness. To continue his legacy and a sporting culture, the event is organised every year in his memory.
Commenting on the success of the Marathon Day, N Kamath, VP, manufacturing, Tata Chemicals, Mithapur, said, “This half marathon has inspired hundreds of people in the Saurashtra region to take up a lifestyle of fitness. Tata Chemicals has been organising this event since the last two decades and what you see today is the result of all the hard work put in by participants and the organising team. I thank and congratulate everybody who came forward to make this a wonderful and memorable event.”
