Tata Chemicals wins the global ICIS award for best product innovation for Tata Swach

Mumbai: ICIS (www.icis.com), a leading global provider of news and information for the chemical and energy sectors, today announced the winners in the ICIS Innovation Awards 2010. Tata Chemicals won the award for the best product innovation for its Tata Swach nanotechnology water purifier.

The panel of five leading industry experts awarded TCL the prize for best overall innovation. Of the 15 shortlisted entries in this year's competition, four have emerged triumphant, with TCL taking the top spot overall.

The judges were clearly very enthused by two of the winning entries, both of which demonstrated an understanding of how chemical innovation can be used to address societal problems around water purity and textile recycling.

In the end, TCL's Tata Swach water purifier was unanimously voted as deserving the overall award, as well as winning in the best product innovation category.

The judges also noted, TCL has well established and deeply-embedded philosophies of social and corporate responsibility, which characterises how they approach business and innovation.
