Tata Chemicals wins the 'ICC award for excellence in management of safety, health and environment'

Mumbai: Tata Chemicals won the prestigious ‘ICC award for excellence in management of safety, health and environment' announced by Indian Chemical Council (ICC) at a glittering ceremony held in Mumbai on September 29, 2010.

TCL, with its initiatives, was adjudged winner among all the entries for its consistent, substantial and impactful efforts in corporate sustainability, and safety, health and environment (SHE) management practice.

Sanjay Choudhary, chief sustainability and technology officer, TCL, said, “We are happy to receive this award for our efforts towards zero-injury workplaces and enduring care for environment. We shall continue our ongoing journey to achieve excellence in SHE management by engaging all our employees, associates and adopting best practices.”

A pioneer in instituting national awards, Indian Chemical Council offers prestigious annual national awards to encourage excellence of achievement in various fields. Nominations received are scrutinised by a team consisting of experts from industry, academia, national laboratories, etc. These awards are presented to the winners at the time of the annual general meeting of the association or at a special function organised for the purpose, which is normally held in the month of September / October every year.
