Mumbai/Delhi: Tata Chemicals was awarded the prestigious 2011-12 FE-EVI Green Business Leadership Award in the Chemicals and Fertiliser Sector to recognise companies in corporate India who have adopted sustainability and clean tech as a core strategic measure to profitability. Dr M Veerappa Moily, Union Minster for Corporate Affairs, presented the award to Tata Chemicals at a glittering ceremony in Delhi on World Environment Day, June 5, 2012. The awards were organized by The Financial Express, in collaboration with Emergent Ventures India.
Sanjay Choudhary, chief sustainability and technology officer, Tata Chemicals, said, “This award recognises our efforts to engage with the stakeholders in the transition to green economy. The awards, presented to a cross section of industry sectors, recognised Mahindra & Mahindra, Shree Cement, Tata Coffee, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Essar Steel, Larsen & Toubro and Jain Irrigation System as winners in their respective categories. The awards jury comprised of eminent policymakers, industry leaders, academicians and thought-leaders.
