Tata Chemicals – Mithapur receives IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award

Tata Chemicals Limited, Chemicals Division, Mithapur, received the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) for 2004, at the eighth IMC RBNQ Awards and IMC Juran Quality medal function held at the Walchand Hirachand Hall. S. M. Krishna, Governor of Maharashtra was the chief guest on the occasion.

Said Mr Prasad Menon, MD, Tata Chemicals, “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution. It has been said that the quality of a product is the reflection of a company’s concern for its customers. Since the customer has always been a focal point at Tata Chemicals, it follows that our products are the result of a relentless effort to offer only the best! “

The purpose of the award is to promote quality awareness and practices in Indian industry, recognise quality achievement of Indian companies, and publicise successful quality strategies and programmes. Customer oriented quality focus, well-designed systems and processes, minimising the response time operations and processes, are prime essentials in the IMC RBNQ Award criteria.

The IMC RBNQA Trust, comprises prominent leaders from Indian companies as trustees, and has been created to foster the success of the programme. The Trust selects the winners based on the recommendations of a panel of judges. The board of advisors is appointed by the IMC and consists of distinguished leaders from all sectors of the Indian industry. The board evaluates all aspects of the award programme, including the adequacy of the award criteria and processes. A highly qualified panel of Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award examiners reviews all applications for this award.
