RICH Rallis

The Rallis Innovation Chemistry Hub (‘RICH’) was established to advance sustainable agricultural solutions. This state-of-the-art facility in Bengaluru focuses on developing innovative products that address the evolving needs of farmers while promoting environmental stewardship. A key aspect of our work is tracking the ‘greening index,’ which enables us to assess the sustainability of our developments continuously. By leveraging advanced research techniques and collaborating with various stakeholders, we strive to create eco-friendly formulations that enhance crop yields.

Impact Stories

  • Goal

To reduce the whitefly infestation & spread of viral disease transmitted by whiteflies in cotton.

  • Benefits

Clasto increases crop yield and quality by controlling all stages of nymph and cotton whitefly adult pests. Its economic viability offers long-duration control of cotton whiteflies, effectively reducing the number of sprays for their management. As a safer green chemistry product, it fits very well in cotton whitefly Integrated Pest Management & Integrated Resistance Management.

  • Solution

Clasto is an advanced insecticide that functions as an Insect Behaviour Regulator (IBR). It targets the chordotonal organs in pests, disrupting their ability to walk, feed, and suck—leading to starvation and death.

  • Impact

Clasto significantly reduces the spread of leaf curl viral infections in cotton, helping farmers secure better yields and preserve crop value. Its effectiveness has made it a benchmark solution in whitefly control.

  • Goal

To provide crop-specific nutrient solutions that boost growth and yields across various stages.

  • Benefits

Customised water-soluble fertilizers offer targeted nutrition through crop-specific formulations, ensuring plants receive the exact nutrients they need. Their versatility makes them suitable for both foliar application and fertigation, while their efficiency helps achieve higher yields and improved crop quality in a cost-effective manner.

  • Solution

Rallis developed a range of customized fertilizers like AQUAFERT® FOLIAR and AQUAFERT® FERTIGATION for tomato, cotton, cereals, pulses, fruits, grapes, pomegranate, and banana — designed for precise delivery of nutrients.

  • Impact

Farmers report improved crop health and better yields, driving adoption across regions. These fertilizers support precision agriculture and sustainable practices.

  • Goal

To overcome compatibility issues between zinc and phosphate fertilizers, and deliver a more efficient, farmer-friendly solution for improved crop nutrition and yield.

  • Benefits

NAYAZINC™ ensures a steady zinc supply through its slow release throughout the crop cycle, improving nutrient uptake and crop development. It is cost-effective while supporting higher yields and superior quality produce.

  • Solution

NAYAZINC™ uses Zinc Polyphosphate — a patented form compatible with phosphate fertilizers — enabling single-step soil application and improved nutrient availability.

  • Impact

Ten times more efficient than traditional zinc sulfate, NAYAZINCTM improves crop quality and yield with lower doses, making it a transformative input in modern farming.

  • Goal

To deliver a longer-lasting, balanced bio-fertilizer solution for better nutrient availability in soil.

  • Benefits

CONSORICH NPK™ delivers a high microbial load with extended shelf life, ensuring better nutrient uptake and soil enrichment. Its versatility allows use across multiple application methods like seedling treatment and drip irrigation, while low application rates make it a cost-effective solution for stronger, healthier plant growth.

  • Solution

CONSORICH NPK™ is a micro-granule bio-fertilizer combining nitrogen-fixing, phosphorus-solubilizing, and potash-mobilizing microbes in endospore form, ensuring product stability and performance.

  • Impact

Farmers experience improved soil fertility and crop yields. The product supports nutrient absorption and promotes healthy plant development, advancing sustainable agricultural practices.

Producing high-quality proteins for research & regulatory needs

We specialise in the large-scale production and purification of proteins used across biosafety, efficacy, and analytical studies.
  • Why protein purification matters

Supporting biosafety and efficacy studies for transgenic crops bulk quantities of highly purified proteins are essential for conducting regulatory studies like allergenicity, toxicity, thermal stability, and pepsin digestibility. These studies are mandatory to establish the safety of transgenic crops expressing the protein.

  • How we produce proteins

Lab-based expression in E. coli systems. To meet the high demand for purified proteins, we over-express the target protein in Escherichia coli (E. coli). This process enables controlled, scalable, and cost-effective protein production within a lab setting.

  • Insect bioassays

Evaluating protein efficacy against target pests. Once purified, the protein is tested through insect bioassays to assess their ability to control specific insect pests. These tests help determine whether the protein is good enough for further development or needs improvement.

  • ELISA assay development

Creating a test to detect the protein in crops. Monoclonal antibodies required for ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) are produced using purified proteins in the initial stages. ELISA is later used as a key tool to detect and quantify proteins in genetically modified crops.

  • Routine detection in transgenic crops

Once the ELISA is optimized, purified proteins are routinely used for detecting the presence of the target protein in transgenic plants, ensuring consistent monitoring and regulatory compliance.

  • In-house generation of high-purity enzymes

We also produce and purify enzymes for internal use in various biochemical reactions. This approach ensures quality, availability, and cost-efficiency, especially when enzymes are needed in large volumes.

  • Our expertise

Our team has extensive experience in producing proteins—including Cry proteins and various enzymes—using validated in-house protocols and SOPs tailored for high yield and purity.
