Community Development Agreement Committee established at Magadi

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mining visited the Magadi ward to conduct the elections for the CDAC at Magadi. The committee which comprises 14 members is mandated under the Regulations of the Mining Act, 2016, to spearhead the community development needs for implementation in collaboration with the Company, the National and the Country government.

Seven representatives from the community were elected from the four group ranches of Olkeri, Olkiramatian, Oldnoyo Nyokie and Shompole. The elected community members will represent various interest groups such as the women, youth, elderly, civil society, the marginalized and persons with disability.

The company wishes to thank the Ministry for facilitating a smooth election process and offers its hearty congratulation to the elected community leaders. We further look forward to having continued harmonious relationship with the community and hope that the new CDA Committee will greatly steer the development needs of the community
