Tata Chemicals Magadi Confirms Full Compliance Submission, Awaits Ministry Direction

• Operations suspended on 28 July 2026; prolonged closure creates mounting uncertainty for employees, communities and business partners

NAIROBI, KENYA, 17 August 2026: Tata Chemicals Magadi Limited (TCML) confirms it has submitted all information, reports and documentation requested by the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs in connection with the suspension of its mining operations. TCML has responded comprehensively to the Ministry's concerns and demonstrated compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The Company remains available for any further clarification and continues to engage constructively with the Ministry and relevant Government agencies. Mining operations have remain suspended since 28 July 2026 in observance of the Government directive, pending the Ministry's review and further direction.

 Respecting the Regulatory Process

TCML recognises and respects the Government's mandate to regulate Kenya's mining sector. Throughout this process, the Company has cooperated fully with authorities and remains committed to responsible mining, environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.

TCML looks forward to an expeditious review of its submissions and a clear pathway to responsibly resuming operations.

Growing Impact Beyond the Company

As the suspension continues, its consequences extend well beyond TCML's own operations.
