TCSRD awards scholarships to over 550 students from Okhamandal

Mithapur, 4th January 2020: Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development (TCSRD) today organised a scholarship distribution programme in Mithapur, wherein over 550 meritorious students from Okhamandal received scholarships worth Rs 15 lakh for their various education requirements.

Scholarships under TCSRD’s ‘Siksha Maitri’ programme were awarded by Mr. N. Kamath, Vice President (Manufacturing), Tata Chemicals in the presence of Shri Pabubha Manek, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.), Dwarka & Kalyanpur Block, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Students pursuing their higher education in technical, professional and medical courses are covered under this scholarship programme. Also, students pursuing standard 9th to higher education under the Affirmative Action will get benefitted. A special scholarship for girls pursuing graduation was also awarded. A scholarship is an award of financial aid for students to pursue their further education.

“Tata Chemicals undertakes various need-based educational programmes across locations, focused on improving the quality of education and ensuring zero drop-outs of student’s right from pre-primary level. Scholarships are awarded based upon merit to motivate students for their higher education and reduce student drop out from their education. TCSRD has come up with such a scholarship programme to help these children to get an education,” said Mr. N. Kamath, Vice President (Manufacturing), Tata Chemicals.
