Tata Chemicals recognised amongst India’s top 25 Most Innovative Companies by CII for the second time in a row

Innovation in the field of Highly Dispersible Silica (HDS) highlighted during the event

Mumbai, December 09, 2020: Tata Chemicals ltd. has been ranked amongst the top 25 most innovative Indian companies in 2020 by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). One of the most coveted innovation awards in the country, CII, felicitated the Company with “CII Industrial Innovation Awards 2020”, to acknowledge Tata Chemicals’ efforts in the field of new product innovation. The award ceremony was organised virtually by the apex industry body which saw participation from large, medium and small companies for their revolutionary world class innovations in the past year.

CII launched Industrial Innovation Awards in the year 2014. The purpose of this Award was to encourage industry to adopt a structured Innovation Framework in their operations and measure their performance periodically on the way to moving up the Innovation Value Chain. The Framework has been widely appreciated by the industry and the number of applications for this coveted award has been increasing year by year. This particular year the entries were evaluated on the basis of how have companies reacted to the on-going pandemic and launched innovative products that will aid the consumer as well as the industry.

Tata Chemicals Innovation Centre has been home to world class R&D capabilities in the emerging areas of food sciences, nanotechnology and biotechnology. Tata Chemicals innovation and technological advancement in the field of Highly Dispersible Silica (HDS), developed for high-performance and fuel-efficient tyres was recognised by CII.

Tata Chemicals has three state-of-the-art Innovation Centres in India - Tata Chemicals Innovation Centre (IC) in Pune, Rallis Innovation Chemistry Hub (RICH) and Agri-Biotech R&D Facility in Bengaluru that houses experienced scientists. These centres act as the company’s technology and innovation hub to support Tata Chemical’s growth in Basic Chemistry Sciences, Agro Sciences, Nutritional Sciences, Material Sciences and Energy Sciences.

In the past, CII Industrial Innovation Awards have recognized 154 firms as champions of innovation in their respective industry sectors and segments. These Innovation Awards have also been instrumental in growth of business opportunities for winning firms. An esteemed jury evaluated the entries basis their presentation. Some of the most eminent names from the industry and CII members were a part of the jury this year. This CII Award gives an opportunity to companies to shine and be known nationally and internationally for their innovative products and services. In the last six consecutive years, these awards have established themselves as one of the most coveted innovation awards in the country.
