Tata Chemicals makes it to top five companies at the FE - EVI Green Business Leadership Awards

Mumbai: Tata Chemicals made it to the top five companies in the energy intensive sectors for its initiatives in areas like climate change and environment, natural resources management, and sustainability governance and overall was ranked fourth among 40 participating organisations in the recently announced FE - EVI Green Business Survey 2010-11.

The third FE - EVI Green Business Leadership Awards event was held at Hyatt Regency Delhi Hotel on June 5, 2011, on World Environment Day. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President and environment ambassador of India, and Farooq Abdullah, minister of new and renewable energy, released the report and presented the awards.

The third edition of the survey was jointly conducted by Financial Express and Emergent Ventures India. Companies, each with revenue of more than Rs1,000 crore, were selected on the basis of the impact their initiatives have made in areas like climate change and environment, natural resources management, and sustainability governance. The awards jury comprised eminent policymakers, industry leaders, academicians and thought-leaders. All the participating companies, representing more than 25 sectors, were divided into two categories, namely Energy Intensive and Low Energy Intensive.

Forty organisations such as Mahindra & Mahindra, L&T, Tata Power, etc from various sectors participated in this prestigious survey which highlights sustainability and climate change initiatives of the organisation.
