Tata Chemicals (Soda Ash) Partners dedicates new ventilation shaft at Green River Mine
The honourable Matthew H Mead, Governor of Wyoming, to dedicate Tata Chemicals' $26 million investment to support mine's expansion
Green River, Wyoming: Tata Chemicals (Soda Ash) Partners today announced the dedication of Shaft 7, a new ventilation shaft at its Green River mine, one of the largest soda ash facilities in North America. Wyoming Governor Matthew H Mead will commemorate the dedication of Shaft 7 at a ceremony on June 1, 2015.
"The dedication of ventilation Shaft 7 is a culmination of four years of hard work and dedication on the part of our team and our partners," said Martin Keighley, CEO and managing director, Tata Chemicals North America. "Shaft 7 will open nearly 1,000 miles of new rock face, effectively extending the mine's life for a decade."
Tata Chemicals has been mining and processing trona ore at the Green River mine since 1968. The mine spans 55 square miles, making it one of the largest soda ash facilities in North America. This complex engineering project represents the largest capital expenditure - $26 million – by Tata Chemicals in the past 20 years.

The dedication of ventilation Shaft 7 will begin with a reception at 10:00am and will include remarks given by R. Mukundan, CEO and managing director, Tata Chemicals, who is traveling from India for the occasion, Paul Peterson, vice president of manufacturing, Tata Chemical (Soda Ash) Partners, Martin Keighley, CEO and managing director, Tata Chemicals North America, and the dedication of the site by The Honorable Matthew H Mead, Governor of Wyoming.
