Tata Chemicals Europe 's best-ever environmental performance

In addition to the record-breaking run, auditors from LRQA were on site this summer to assess our environmental management performance, and we passed with flying colours.

Following an intensive three-day audit with two auditors, Tata Chemicals Europe Ltd (Lostock and Winnington) was recommended for re-certification to the environmental management standard ISO 14001 for another three years.

In his closing statement, the Lead Auditor stated: "Overall, well done - really positive - there are a number of improvements that are significantly reducing the risk, both from an environmental point of view and a business point of view."

Outside of the ISO 14001 re-certification process, our environmental performance is at its best for some time now, based on a number of measures, including the longest-ever period without a Part A non-compliance.

Head of SHEQ Stephen Weston said: “The outcome of the audit is a great result and on behalf of the senior management team I'd like to thank everyone who has been involved in this team effort over recent years. We are proud to say that this represents the best-ever environmental performance in Tata Chemicals Europe history.
