December 3, 2010

Mumbai: Tata Chemicals (TCL) won four prestigious awards in various categories, announced in the inaugural function of the Fertilisers Association of India (FAI) annual seminar held at Delhi on November 29, 2010. R Mukundan, managing director, TCL, received the awards in the presence of dignitaries from government and industry.

The TCL Haldia plant won the ‘FAI award for the best overall performance of an operating fertiliser unit for SSP’ for the year 2009-10, and also the ‘FAI environmental protection award’ in the SSP fertiliser plants category for the year 2009-10.

The TCL Babrala plant won the first prize for their article titled ‘Debottlenecking of Tata Chemicals Fertiliser Complex at Babrala’, published in the December 2009 issue of the Indian Journal of Fertilisers. The TCL Babrala facility was also declared as the runner-up for the ‘FAI environmental protection award’ in the nitrogenous fertiliser plant category for the year 2009-10.

Speaking on the achievement, Mr Mukundan said, “Each one of us at TCL is focused on improving operational excellence and adding value to all the stakeholders. These awards reiterate our commitment towards sustainability and responsible care. Such accolades from the industry are a great motivating factor in our sustainability journey".
