Uses:
Gypsum
is used as an ingredient of portland cement. It
is used for the treatment of soils to stabilise
volatile and dissolved nitrogenous compounds.
It
also finds use as inert filler in paints, pharmaceuticals,
paper and insecticidal dusts, etc. It is a raw
material in the manufacture of plaster of paris
and ammonium sulphate
