Muscat: Topp iodised salt, a product of Tata Chemicals from India has been launched in the Sultanate of Oman.

Topp is manufactured by Tata Chemicals Limited, the pioneers and market leaders of iodised salt in India, and comes with the Tata assurance of purity and quality.

Manufactured in an advanced facility in India, Tata salt is a household name with top-of-the-mind brand recall and a 41 per cent share of the Indian branded iodised salt market, way ahead of the nearest competitor.

“The respect and trust that Tata Salt holds in India is proven by the fact that it has been rated among the top 10 most trusted brands in the survey conducted by The Economic Times, India’s largest financial newspaper. Tata Salt was named the ‘No.1 Food Brand’ in 2003,” say officials of Tata.

Speaking at the launch on August 29 at the Sheraton Hotel, Prasad Menon, managing director of Tata Chemicals Limited, said: “We at Tata Chemicals are proud and honoured to bring our product to the competitive and quality-conscious market of the Sultanate, and we hope that our product finds wholehearted acceptance here as it does in India.”

Topp is marketed in the West Asia region, including the United Arab Emirates and Oman (and will be available in Bahrain and Qatar shortly) by Tata West Asia FZE, a Tata Group company based in Dubai.

Tata West Asia has appointed Naranjee Hirjee & Co. LLC as its sole distributor for the Topp iodised salt in the Sultanate. Naranjee Hirjee, a 100-year-old organisation, is one of the leading FMCG distribution companies in Oman.

Topp iodised salt would complement many worldwide leading brands, which are handled by the company.

Topp iodised salt is available in two formats — a smart and convenient dispenser pack of 750gm and an economical refill pack of 1kg. It is already available at all leading hyper/supermarkets and other retail outlets.
