The plants at Mithapur and Babrala have been awarded
"Five Star" rating. Continually, Improvement
Opportunities are identified through regular and
periodic Internal /Third Party assessments, audits,
self performance evaluation cycle, monthly management
performance reviews of KPIs and Balanced Scorecard
Measures against the set targets and benchmarks.
The
company has a well established Communication Policy,
calendar and agenda also for providing feedback
on the status of implementation and action planning.
The Company's strategy planning process, design
and engineering, purchasing, construction, contract
management systems and processes / procedures
are ISO 9001 and 14001 certified. Project Management
department processes take care of Safety, Health
and Environment related issues and concerns at
the planning and design stage.
The
setting up of an 8.64 Lacs TPA gas based Urea
manufacturing Plant at Babrala in 1994, 2500 TPD
Clinker Manufacturing facilities, Cement Plant
(1993), Membrane Cell based 100 TPD capacity Caustic
Soda plant (19,95), 200 TPH & 19 MWH, steam
and power generating Facility (1995) have established
themselves as benchmarks for others to follow
in terms of Technology and Environment performance.
The
Environment and Safety Management Systems of the
Company monitor the current operating performance
and ensure compliance all through. The Company's
Safety Management system ensures employees HSE
performance at workplace, with emphasis on behavioral
safety aspects, process safety, risk assessments,
safety work permits, safety training and education
for Company's employees, as well as, contract
employees.
It
also ensures emergency preparedness, effectiveness
of On-site and Off-site emergency plans, Mutual
Aid scheme, communication, education and training
to the community around the site about the hazards
and action plans. The Company's Medical and Health
department ensures regular checkups, preliminary
and emergency medical help not only to the employees
but also to entire community in Okhamandal.
The
Tata Chemmicals' Company's Community Development
department as well as Tata Chemicals Society for
Rural Development (TCSRD) ensures engagement with
all the people around the plant sites and identifies
their needs and addresses them with the help of
Company, district administration as case may be.
TCSRD has well established its credibility and
efficiency such that various Government dept.
prefer TCSRD as PIA (Project Implementing Agency)
for implementing Government projects.
Both
the plants of the Company have been recognized
with many national and state level awards for
their outstanding performance in the areas of
Safety, Health and, Environment and the development
and welfare of its employees, as well as, the
community.
