Ahmedabad : Tata Chemicals Limited (TCL), part of the Tata Group, has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Award for Excellence’ in the field of “Industrial Relations” for the year 2007 by the Federation of Gujarat Industries, Vadodara. The recently held award function witnessed the presence of various Corporates, who excelled in their respective spheres of practice and have distinctly evolved in the defined categories. Mr. Satish Anand, Head HR, Tata Chemicals Ltd. (Mithapur) received the award on behalf of the Company from former President of India, Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Over the years, TCL has conclusively surpassed and improved upon all the criteria laid down by FGI, paving its way to this successful achievement. In view of TCL’s principles and values and its single-minded devotion to a well planned and effective Human Relations Programme, it has resulted in the organisation not having a single day’s production loss due to workers unrest since more than fifty years.

The Company's mining and manufacturing facilities located at Green River Basin in Wyoming, USA, are assets of a very high quality, providing access to some of the world's largest and most economically recoverable trona ore deposits that are then converted to Soda Ash. The acquisition of GCIP takes TCL's global Soda Ash capacity to around 5.5 Million Tonnes per annum.
