For
all managerial positions the company depends on
a national search, while for supervisory levels,
it initiates a regional search. While recruiting
at operating levels, the company relies on a local
search.
Recruitment
starts once each position is formally approved
by the relevant authority. Advertisements for
positions are also released within the company,
so that interested employees can apply.
Employees
applying will be assessed along with external
applicants, so that the quality of throughput
is maintained. Other things being equal, preference
is given to existing employees.
Entry-level
recruitment
Recruitment
at the entry level is normally as graduate engineer
trainees (GETs) or as management trainees. This
is usually done once a year, matching with the
academic session of the universities and other
institutes.
GETs/
management trainees are recruited from reputed
institutes after which they undergo a plant orientation
at one of the worksites for a period of two weeks.
They are then trained in different departments
in a structured manner for a period of 1 year.
After a year, based on their evaluation, they
are considered for absorption into the organisation.
