P K Ghose, chief financial
officer (CFO) of Tata Chemicals since November
2002, has now been redesignated executive vice
president and CFO with effect from August 2007.
He is responsible for treasury, accounting taxation,
strategic finance, secretarial and IT matters.
An honours graduate in commerce, Mr Ghose is a
member of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants
of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries
of India. He is an alumnus of the advanced international
general management programme of CEDEP, France.
Prior to joining Tata Chemicals,
he was with Tata Steel in several positions including
general manager (accounts), chief financial controller
(corporate) and chief of strategic finance. He
has served on the boards of many companies, including
Tata Yodogawa, Stewarts & Lloyd and Tata Pigments.
At present, he is on
the board of Nelco, Homefield International Pvt
Ltd, Mauritius
Homefield UK Pvt Ltd, the Brunner Mond Group,
UK, and Brunner Mond (South Africa). He has twice
won awards as 'CFO of the year', for cost optimisation
in 2003 and for 'deal of the year' in 2006.
